A medieval French war hero with a powerful ally and a serious guilt complex. Armand is a retired soldier from the army, risen to prominence in society as a respected commoner who fought for his country, crown and church. Having saved the life of an important Cardinal in the Church during a seige, his notoriety has spread throughout France. What the public doesn't know is that Armand left his brother's side during the battle and his brother was killed while he was away. Armand is distraught to say the least. The adoration he receives from other commoners and haughty compliments from the nobility only make his guilt worse. Armand received a sizable award, the eternal support of the grateful Cardinal, and now makes a comforatable living serving as a guard, consultant and private bodyguard to nobility.

Karom exists somewhere in the 7th through 10th centuries as a viking raider plundering the shores of Britian and France. He shows no mercy in his business whatsoever and does not even flinch when striking down a woman or child. He is a successful, experienced raider and has earned the respect of his clansmen in battle. His name comes from his enjoyment of pummling the face of a vanquished opponent with his fists.

Volt Eisenman is known as the Rushing Mountain. This giant of a man fights in the manner of the late middle ages: Great sword and Steel Cuirass. He is a Dopplesolder, men legendary for their hand to hand skills.

A French Knight

Surlas is a grumpy man who is nevertheless endearing and affable and almost uniformly loved by his patrons. He'll probably die behind the bar someday, whether it be from a drunkard's knife in a brawl or a poisoned liver. He fantasizes about selling the bar and moving on, but then he would have to buy his own drinks retail, rather than drink his profits wholesale. It'll never happen.
